Report # 931
Hey everyone, I hope that you've all had a wonderful weekend. I had a very relaxing Friday and I didn't do very much at all. In the evening I went with Dora to Cinépolis to see Looper, which was a movie about some time travelling assassins. The interesting thing I can remember seeing a movie just a couple of years ago called Jumper, and if I remember instead of Loopers they were called Jumpers, but I think they just teleported, I can't remember if they travelled through time. So maybe the movies aren't too alike afterall.
I was feeling a lot better by Saturday but I didn't want to work myself too hard so I didn't go for a run. Dora and I went to a nice restaurant called Las Trojes and I ordered some tortilla soup, but unfortunately it was way too spicy. I ate it all but I probably shouldn't have. Usually the soup is really good, but I've had tortilla soup that is too spicy before and it's just difficult for me to eat. I had some spaghetti after and that was amazing though. Before leaving Dora and I changed tables and watched the live music for about an hour.
Yesterday I went to La Pacanda to have breakfast with Dora. I had some ham and eggs and pancakes. In the afternoon we drove to Playa Azul and we sat at a restaurant by the beach for a few hours. We shared a lobster plate and while it was somewhat tasty, the plate was drenched in some spicy sauce and it I really didn't like that. I just wanted to try lobster as I've never had it before, though I learned it's just not worth it. Even if it wasn't drenched in some super spicy sauce, it just doesn't make any sense to pay a lot for something that doesn't include much meat.
After lunch we wanted to go swimming in the pool but seeing as most places there don't take cash, we went to an ATM machine to take some out. Dora tried first and it didn't work so I tried next and it did't work so I think the machine was out of money. I had enough money to buy Dora a swimsuit anyways so it wasn't a big deal, but after we bought the swim suit we had no money to pay the 20 peso per person entrance fee to get into the pool. We walked back to the car and luckily Dora had some bills lying around so we had enough money to go swimming and buy some drinks.
At the pool I saw the taxi driver that I'm always seeing around. Running into people in this city really is super easy. The water temperature was great and it was great to swim for over an hour. Unfortunately after getting out of the pool I realized I was breaking out in hives. (a rash) This happens to me sometimes when its hot outside. I had small breakouts of the hives while I was in Calgary. I'm not sure what causes it exactly, but for me it has something to do with the hot weather, chlorine, and sunscreen.
The majority of the time nothing will happen to me, but I go through some periods that I break out in this rash. The one yesterday looked a little different than usual as it was more splotchy, and didn't really itch at all. I was fine as we headed towards home though. On the way home we stopped at an overpass where some people had pulled over to watch the crocodiles. Down below there were people at the beach going right near the water and actually feeding them. I really couldn't believe there were actually people in the water getting super close to the crocodiles.
I could see one guy actually touching a crocodile for a bit, though when the crocodile reacted, the guy ran off a ways. Standing from the overpass I could see almost 20 crocodiles swimming in the water, it was an area where the lake eventually leads to the ocean. Seeing all of the people there I could definitely tell that crocodiles really fascinate people. And I myself was probably more fascinated than everyone else as I had never seen crocodiles in nature before. I took all of the pictures I can, though it was hard to get a super great one of the crocodile itself.
Dora dropped me off at home and came back later with some hamburgers. I took some allergy pills and when I woke up in the morning my skin was a lot better. I decided to go for a run seeing as I had gotten through my cold and the hives had mostly gone. I went for my run but unfortunately that brought the hives back so I guess whatever it is in my system isn't out 100 % yet. I had a shower and took another allergy pill and while the hives have gone down again they are still here. at the very least it's not the super itchy kind so I'll be ok.
It's just unfortunate finally after getting through that nasty cold I had now I feel super tired and don't have any energy and I'm dealing with this. I think after I'm through typing this all up I'm going to lie down for a while. Anyways for the next question:
Which animal would you like to have an opportunity to see in it's natural habitat ?I will leave you all with some pictures from Mexico City. Take care and I'll talk to you all on Thursday, bye for now.

Great you got over your cold. I'm sorry you're sufferring with the hives now. Rest up and stay in I think should help you feel better.
That's crazy a man was so close to a crocodile where he could (or did) touch it. I would never get in the water if I knew anything dangerous was nearby!
Hope you feel well soon.
Hives can occur even to very cold temperatures. See if you can get a good lotion there and apply it generously all over you. Sometimes (actually very often), hives are seen during a stressful time. May be you are worried about your job situation there.
HIVES! Yikes! Get better soon! I am not a reptile person. I would never get that close. I would actually run!! Far far far away!!! And to answer your question for me it would a giraffe. I love them!!
I went to see Looper also! I didn't think I would like it, as time travel really isn't my thing-but it turned out to be pretty good. It is a lot different from Jumpers, but I see where you made the connection. I would say that out of the two, I like Looper better. I was a little surprised by the ending, but I think all in all, it was a good movie.
I would like to see an ocelot in it's natural habitat.
And to put a new spin on your original question, if you could switch back and forth from human to animal at will, which animal would you choose, and why?
I never saw Jumpers but in your opinion which movie was the better Looper ?
